About The Position

This is an open post inviting qualified candidates to submit an application as an expression of interest in future openings. The Tutor, reporting to the Coordinator of Tutoring and the Dean of Teaching and Learning Support Division, provides individual and small group tutoring supporting material taught in class. The Tutor facilitates learning, guiding students to become independent learners who successfully meet educational goals.

Requirements

• Must have a strong command of the English language, including grammar, composition, and literature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Patience and a genuine desire to help students succeed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
• Experience with online tutoring platforms.
• Familiarity with curriculum development or instructional material creation.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one or small group tutoring in assigned location (i.e. in-person, online, in the classroom)
• Works with a diverse student population to support learning of key concepts and study strategies
• Provides students with positive and constructive feedback
• Maintains accurate records of tutoring sessions
• Collaborates with faculty, students, and other stakeholders to support student success
• Continuously engages in professional growth and development, including staying current in the curricula, leveraging best practices, and reviewing student feedback
• May assist in developing materials to support tutoring in the discipline or student skills
• Other duties as assigned by Dean/Coordinator
