About The Position

Performs various duties in either department (Electric OR Water & Sewer).

Requirements

• High school student (at least 16 years of age) or high school diploma or acceptable equivalent (i.e. GED).
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking or scientific thinking in routine and non-routine functions of operation, maintenance and construction.
• Valid driver’s license for the State of Mississippi.
• Must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately without causing a significant safety threat to self or others.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the maintenance of right-of-way for properties to include mowing/bush hogging of grass and spraying of poison on weeds and other growth detrimental to the operating efficiency of the utility service applicable.
• Replace/Change filters in traffic control boxes.
• Check/Repair heaters in water pumping stations (in winter).
• Other duties as assigned.
