About The Position

This is a part-time driver position to operate the DawgRide evening shuttle. DawgRide provides safe, on-demand transportation for students across campus and nearby areas during evening hours. Drivers play a critical role in supporting student safety, well-being, and access by transporting students to and from approved locations using a mobile dispatch application.

Requirements

Must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with University policy.
Minimum age of 21 (for insurance eligibility)
Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record check
Comfort using smartphone apps for navigation and ride management
Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and dependability
Ability to work independently during evening hours
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Nice To Haves

Prior experience driving passengers (shuttle, rideshare, delivery, etc.)
Familiarity with Butler University’s campus and surrounding area
Experience working with college students or in customer-facing roles

Responsibilities

Safely operate a university shuttle vehicle during assigned evening shifts
Use a mobile app-based dispatch system to receive ride requests, navigate to pick-up locations, and complete drop-offs
Provide courteous, professional, and supportive service to student riders
Follow all traffic laws, university driving policies, and safety protocols
Conduct basic pre- and post-shift vehicle checks and report any concerns
Maintain accurate trip logs and app usage as required
Communicate effectively with dispatch or supervisors regarding delays, incidents, or concerns
Help ensure a calm, respectful, and safe ride environment for all passengers.
