About The Position

Wilmintgon Health Carolina Beach is expanding and seeking an experienced NP/PA to provide outpatient primary and walk-in care on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The ideal candidate will enjoy a clinic mix of preventative care, chronic care management, patient education, and walk-in cases.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the United States.
  • Certification from an accredited PA or NP program and national certification board.
  • 1 year of demonstrated direct patient care in a NP or PA role in primary care or relevant specialty.
  • Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility to meet patient and clinic needs.
  • The required clinical skills enable the PA/NP to perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop effective treatment plans, and manage acute and chronic conditions efficiently.
  • Communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records facilitates accurate documentation and streamlines workflow.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Strong background in patient education, pediatric well-checks and chronic disease management.
  • Preferred skills such as advanced life support certifications enhance the ability to respond to emergencies and complex clinical situations.
  • Familiarity with telehealth technology supports the delivery of care in diverse settings, expanding access for patients in the Carolina Beach area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to assess health status and identify medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic tests as appropriate.
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, health maintenance, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
