About The Position

Knoxville Montessori School is hiring an Outdoor Play & Toddle Assistant to help children transition from the structured school day into outdoor play, creative activities, snacks, and family pick-up. This is not a desk job. Much of the afternoon is spent outdoors supervising play, helping children solve everyday problems, keeping activity areas safe, and making sure everyone is accounted for. Staff may work with different age groups and must be comfortable assisting toddlers with snacks, toileting, handwashing, and transitions.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervising children indoors and outdoors
• Leading children in outdoor play, games, nature exploration, art, and simple activities
• Helping toddlers and younger children with snacks, toileting, and care routines
• Maintaining headcounts and following dismissal procedures
• Supporting respectful behavior and helping children work through minor conflicts
• Preparing and cleaning activity areas
• Communicating important information to the Extended Day Coordinator
• Following KMS safety and emergency procedures
