About The Position
Market 32/Price Chopper Supermarkets is accepting applications for current and future part-time opportunities at its Malta location. Openings may be available in Grocery, Front End, Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli/Food Service, Produce, and Floral, with additional departments including Pharmacy and General Merchandise. Most hiring activity occurs on the front end and night crew, while applicants with relevant previous experience may be considered for other departments. Applicants can identify up to three departments of interest or select any department. Applications are reviewed when hiring needs arise, and selected applicants will be contacted for an interview. Part-time roles may offer a path to a longer career, as the company posts full-time positions internally.
Requirements
- Be reliable and honest.
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Be able to read and write at the 8th-grade level.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be currently pursuing education.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience for applicants seeking placement in departments outside the front end and night crew.
- Registered pharmacist or pharmacy student for Pharmacy opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, efficient customer service in the Front End, the hub of the company's Six-Star Service associate recognition program.
- Bake and prepare artisan breads in the Bakery.
- For Pharmacy roles, fill prescriptions, counsel customers on health care concerns, and provide friendly and efficient service.
- Use the Floral department's online tools and services to support custom bouquets and floral orders, and assist customers with plants and flowers.
- Slice and prepare deli meats, salads, and sandwiches in Deli/Food Service.
- Stock, merchandise, and create product displays in Grocery.
- Provide high-quality fresh meat to customers in the Meat department.
- Assist customers with produce and educate them about the benefits of produce-rich diets.
- Provide fresh seafood and help customers buy, prepare, and serve seafood meals.
- Work with a varied selection of non-food and seasonal products in General Merchandise.
