About The Position

Highland Community College is seeking experienced nurses to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals as Part-Time Nursing Instructors. This role involves teaching nursing students in various settings, including classroom, lab, and clinical environments, with opportunities for collaborative simulation experiences. The position is part-time, requiring approximately 10-14 hours per week, with potential locations in Freeport, Rockford, Monroe, WI, and surrounding areas. Instructors will supervise students during clinical rotations, assess their performance, and provide feedback to ensure they meet course and program learning outcomes.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or Wisconsin if clinical oversight takes place in Wisconsin.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of recent direct patient care experience in Med/surg or critical care nursing.
• Strong communication, organization, and a passion for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach nursing students in classroom, lab, or clinical setting with collaborative simulation experiences.
• Supervise students during clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities.
