About The Position
A wonderful family in Port Washington, NY is seeking reliable, flexible help for three well-rounded children. The role focuses on school drop-offs, after-school care, and light support with activities in a friendly, walkable neighborhood. Located in the heart of Port Washington, this home is within walking distance to Main Street, parks, and local amenities—and just a short walk from the train station (easy access to NYC).
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of childcare experience with school age children
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
- Comfortable driving children (car seat for youngest provided)
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background, social media, and driving record checks
- At least 2 childcare-related references
- Comfort with dogs (older Labrador Retriever, friendly)
Responsibilities
- Helping with morning routine
- Helping and cleaning up breakfast
- Getting the kids ready for school
- Getting the youngest to school (driving distance 15-20 minutes max)
- Picking up youngest from school
- Afterschool care
- Supervising children and ensuring a safe, engaging environment
- Preparing snacks or heating pre-made meals
- Walking children to local activities (tutoring, park, library—all within walking distance)
- Staying with youngest child during older children’s activities
- Light pet care (prompting the children to walk their dog)
