About The Position

Southwestern Community College District (SWCCD) is seeking to hire a part-time instructor to teach a variety of Medical Office Professions courses. These courses include Human Structures and Functions, Medical Terminology, Health Care Essentials, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Clinical Procedures, Electronic Health Records, Physician Office Lab Procedures, Introduction to Medical Billing and Coding, and Administrative Medical Assisting Procedures. Classes can be delivered through face-to-face or online modalities and may be scheduled during weekdays and/or evenings at various campus locations, including local high schools and Donovan Prison.

Requirements

Any bachelor’s degree or higher AND two (2) years of professional experience OR Any associate’s degree AND six (6) years of professional experience.
Professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
Applicants with foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and submit a copy of the evaluation.
Submit a current resume.
Submit unofficial transcripts verifying awarded degree(s) and completion date.
Submit any relevant certifications, diplomas, or licenses that demonstrate you meet the minimum qualifications.
Complete applications thoroughly.
Provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Be fingerprinted by an electronic fingerprinting service within 10 days of employment.
Provide clearance of tuberculosis (dated within the past 4 years) within 60 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor’s degree in the discipline directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment or equivalent foreign degree plus two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
