About The Position

This position will be responsible for multiple tasks relating to trouble shooting, lubricating and preventive maintenance of all facility equipment. Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems. Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations. Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule. Complete appropriate paperwork and reports. Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs. Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision. Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to adhere to Tyson Foods' safety policies and procedures.
  • Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.
  • Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping.
  • Ability to climb ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and working at heights to excess of 150 ft.
  • Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing.
  • Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork such as SAP, equipment tracking logs, and daily equipment check sheets.
  • Effectively communicate with all hourly team members and members of management in person and on the radio.
  • Internal Candidates must not exceed the amount 4 points or have any disciplines within a 6 month period.
  • Must have at least 6 months of continuous work history with the same employer within the last 24 months.
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
