About The Position

LREI (Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School) seeks part-time Lower School Coverage Teachers to support our community of students and teachers on a daily basis. The Lower School serves students from age four through 4th grade, with a broad range of learning styles, identities and passions. Part-time Coverage Teachers are important members of our community who supervise our students through midday routines like lunch and rest. Responsibilities vary by assignment, and may include but are not limited to: lunch and rest setup, lunch service in classrooms, classroom management, rest supervision, recess duties, and additional classroom support. A Coverage Teacher’s assigned responsibilities may change at any time given the needs of the division, as directed by the Assistant Principal and/or Principal. Coverage Teachers work nearly all school days, and do not work during school breaks. Coverage teachers may have the possibility of adding additional, occasional hours (maximum 30 total hours per week) as a Substitute Teacher. The available positions are in either our Fours (pre-K) or Kindergarten classrooms from 11:45am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday.
