About The Position

This position is for a Part-Time Librarian Pool, not to exceed 67% of a full-time load. The role involves creating an exceptional educational environment for students in a dynamic, inclusive community. The librarian will empower students of diverse backgrounds to reach their potential, develop and review curriculum, and assess student learning. Teaching assignments may include lecture-discussion courses during day, evening, or Saturday, and/or online/distance education formats, based on departmental need on a semester-by-semester basis. The ideal candidate is equity-minded, understands the importance of creating opportunities for historically underserved students, particularly in the Latinx community, and views the elimination of inequities as a responsibility. They should demonstrate a commitment to student-centered practices, cross-campus collaboration, transparent decision-making, and community service, while embracing anti-racist pedagogy and adapting to diverse student needs. Comfort with diverse student populations, public speaking, knowledge of library resources (print and online), and excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. The role involves daily library operations, primarily teaching (as an Embedded Librarian, providing information literacy instruction, and instruction on library resources and research skills) and providing reference assistance (in person and virtually). New graduates are encouraged to apply.
