About The Position
The Department of English at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks to hire a lecturer qualified to teach a course in Audiology and Audiometry, in support of our Speech-Language Pathology Certificate and Minor programs. The course, ENG 5570: Audiology and Audiometry, involves the study of the anatomy and physiology of the ear, as well as the central auditory processing system, and considers the characteristics, assessment, and management of various hearing disorders. Lecturers will teach courses needed for our Minor/Certificate program in Speech Language Pathology.
Requirements
- MA/MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, Neuroscience, or a closely-related field.
- Degree in hand by time of appointment

- PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, Neuroscience, or a closely-related field.
- Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued.
- Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.
Responsibilities
- Preparing a syllabus and assignments
- Creating lessons and class activities
- Attending class weekly for the duration of the semester
- Grading assignments
- Holding weekly office hours
- Responding to student communication in a timely manner
- Demonstrating a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population
- Working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines
