About The Position

The Department of English at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking to hire a lecturer qualified to teach a course in Audiology and Audiometry (ENG 5570) to support their Speech-Language Pathology Certificate and Minor programs. This course covers the anatomy and physiology of the ear and the central auditory processing system, as well as the characteristics, assessment, and management of various hearing disorders. Lecturers will be responsible for teaching courses needed for the Speech Language Pathology Minor/Certificate program.

Requirements

  • MA/MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, Neuroscience, or a closely-related field.
  • Degree in hand by time of appointment
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, Neuroscience, or a closely-related field.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation
  • Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level

Responsibilities

  • Preparing a syllabus and assignments
  • Creating lessons and class activities
  • Attending class weekly for the duration of the semester
  • Grading assignments
  • Holding weekly office hours
  • Responding to student communication in a timely manner
  • Teaching courses in Audiology and Audiometry
  • Supporting the Speech-Language Pathology Certificate and Minor programs
