About The Position

The Gender and Sexuality Studies and Queer Studies Programs at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: Gender & Sexuality Studies 100 – Decoding Desire: Gender and Sexuality in the Humanities, Gender & Sexuality Studies 105 – Intro to Queer Studies, Gender & Sexuality Studies 205 – Gender and Globalization, Gender & Sexuality Studies 302 – Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Gender & Sexuality Studies 320 - Digital Culture, Gender and Sexuality. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or ABD status.
  • MA with substantial graduate coursework in a related field may be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Must be available on very short notice.
  • Must disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (only after meeting minimum qualifications and before an offer is extended).
  • Must sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (if reaching final stages of application process).

  • Demonstrated understanding of Feminist/gender theory, Queer Theory, and Critical Race Theory.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Gender & Sexuality Studies 100, 105, 205, 302, and 320.
  • Be available on very short notice for potential appointments.
  • Participate in regular performance evaluations.
  • Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading material reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
