About The Position

The Industrial Technology, Packaging, and Entrepreneurship Area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time Entrepreneurship lecturers during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2026-27 academic year. Positions are available as determined by need and funding for teaching assignments in entrepreneurship fundamentals, lean startup, design thinking, customer development, funding and managing high-growth startups, business basics for entrepreneurs, and technology entrepreneurship. Assignments are contingent upon class availability, scheduling, budget and enrollments. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice. The person hired must reside in the state of California at the time of hire and for the entirety of the appointment. Cal Poly is a smoke & tobacco-free campus.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Entrepreneurship or a closely related discipline.
• Evidence of current engagement in the professional field through ongoing work, training, or alignment with industry trends.
• Significant and relevant industry experience demonstrating depth of knowledge and practical application in entrepreneurship.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively teach undergraduate entrepreneurship courses, particularly those that emphasize experiential learning.
• Must reside in the state of California at the time of hire and for the entirety of the appointment.

Nice To Haves

• Masters degree in business or a related discipline.
• Current and relevant industry or teaching experience that demonstrates competency to teach entrepreneurship courses that emphasize experiential learning.

• Classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are: Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677, Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224, Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523, Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211
