About The Position

This part-time instructor position is responsible for teaching Master Cosmetology courses, Parts 1-3, at the Broken Arrow Campus. The role involves developing and delivering presentations, training students, and strictly enforcing sanitation, health, and disease-prevention protocols. Instructors are expected to teach advanced educator topics, manage the classroom effectively, and maintain student records. A commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program and participation in professional development are also required.

Requirements

2 - 4 years of experience as a Master Cosmetology Instructor in either an educational or industry setting.
Experience developing, delivering presentations, and training others.
Cosmetology Master Instructor license is required.
Must be able to instruct students during training hours while strictly enforcing sanitation, health, and disease-prevention protocols.
High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Teach advanced educator topics including but not limited to: course outlining and development, lesson planning, teaching techniques/aids, examination administration and grading, school management, and Board laws and regulations.
Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
Monitor and assist students in the Blackboard Learning Management System.
Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.).
Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.
Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
