About The Position

The Department of Religious Studies at St. Francis Xavier University is seeking applications for part-time instructors to teach various courses during the 2026-2027 academic year. A total of ten courses from a provided list will be offered across the fall and winter terms, with the specific courses depending on the specialization of the successful applicants. Each part-time instructor can teach a maximum of four courses per academic year. Requirements

  • Qualified to teach specific courses from the list: RELS 117, RELS 216, RELS 221, RELS 222, RELS 225, RELS 230, RELS 254, RELS 316, RELS 326, RELS 333, RELS 363, RELS 375 (Online), RELS 402, RELS 414.
  • Provide a cover letter indicating qualified courses and willingness to teach in person.
  • Submit a curriculum vitae.
  • Provide evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., sample syllabi, statement of teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations).
