About The Position

Coordinates front-of-house services for Stocker Center patrons before, during and after events held in the Stocker Center theatre, gallery, cinema hall, lecture hall and lobby. Supervises front-of-house personnel at assigned events. Conducts pre-event orientation and post-event service evaluation with front-of-house staff. Facilitates coordination between backstage personnel and front-of-house staff. Serves as first responder to audience and/or facility problems and summons any necessary assistance. Prepares written Event Report at the conclusion of assigned events noting attendance figures and citing any issues or incidents that arose and what action was taken by whom, as well as evaluating all front-of-house personnel working the event, noting any problems with staff as well as any outstanding contributions by staff. Provides job orientation for newly hired Front-of-House Event Assistants/Associates and on-going training for existing staff. Fills in at any front-of-house position location when necessary. Assists in supervising the evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency. Presents a professional image while on duty. Performs other duties as assigned. Assists the House Personnel Coordinator in resolving house personnel and procedural issues. Assures front-of-house activities run smoothly, and that patrons, artists and renters receive high quality service at assigned events. Assures that the Event Report is complete and accurate and that the front-of-house is appropriately secured at the conclusion of assigned events. Maintains current CPR certification.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Must possess prior experience as a Front-of-House Event Assistant and/or Event Associate in Stocker Center.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to supervise others.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be available for a flexible work schedule which includes evenings and weekends.
  • Should possess a sincere interest in theatre and be willing to work in various areas of the theatre.
  • Should have a proactive customer service philosophy.
  • Must be able to perform moderate lifting (40+ pounds).
