About The Position

Part Time Flex Officers are responsible for patrolling buildings and grounds, monitoring for safety and security issues, and responding to incidents. This role requires individuals to be trained and qualified to work multiple posts, filling in for call-offs or vacations. Officers will observe and report irregularities, enforce rules, and assist management in emergency situations. The position involves writing reports and maintaining a secure environment for clients.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
State Security Officer License (where applicable).
Certification in the use of weapons, State Armed License (if required).
Valid Driver's License (if in a driving position).
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (may be needed).
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear regularly.
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel frequently.
Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see and distinguish basic colors.

Responsibilities

Patrol buildings and grounds to detect infringements, disturbances, and unsafe conditions.
Confer with management, interview guests and employees, and interrogate persons.
Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
Monitor thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperatures.
Register at watch stations to record inspection times.
Record property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning equipment.
Warn violators of rule infractions and apprehend or expel persons engaged in suspicious or criminal acts.
Notify staff of the presence of persons with questionable reputations.
Permit authorized persons and regulate vehicle/pedestrian traffic.
Drive radio-equipped cars to check alarms and locate sources of alarms.
Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in case of emergency.
Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
Apprehend unauthorized persons and release them to authorities.
Contact supervisors by radio or telephone to report irregularities and obtain instructions.
Write investigation and automobile usage reports.
