About The Position

This is a part-time position where officers are trained and qualified to work multiple posts to cover for call-offs or vacations. The role involves patrolling various locations, monitoring for security breaches, responding to alarms, and ensuring the safety and security of the premises and personnel. Officers may also be responsible for traffic control, reporting incidents, and assisting in emergency situations. This job has no supervisory responsibilities, and officers are subject to supervision from Branch/Account Managers, Post Supervisors, and Field Supervisors.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Where applicable: State Security Officer License; Certification in the use of weapons, State Armed License if required; Valid Drivers' License, if in driving position; CPR/AED/First Aid Certification may be needed.

Responsibilities

Patrol buildings and grounds of industrial plants, commercial establishments, docks, logging camp areas, or work sites.
Patrol lobbies, corridors, and public rooms.
Confer with management, interview guests and employees, and interrogate persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, and accidents.
Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
Perform and set thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms.
Register at watch stations to record time of inspection trips.
Inspect assigned areas and record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.
Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Notify staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
Permit authorized persons and regulate vehicle/pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow.
Drive radio-equipped car to through client's establishment, check alarms and locate sources of alarm.
Sound alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
Apprehend unauthorized persons found on property, using armed force if necessary, and release them to custody of authorities.
Contact supervisor by radio or telephone to report irregularities and obtain further instructions.
Write investigation and automobile usage reports.
