About The Position
Victor Valley College is continuously recruiting applicants for a pool of part-time Health faculty to fill assignments on an as-needed basis. Assignments may be up to 67%, substitute, temporary, or hourly. Departments and divisions refer to applications in the pool when temporary faculty assignments need to be filled. The number of faculty hired varies by semester according to departmental needs. Applications are accepted continually and maintained in the pool for at least 12 months. Applicants must meet the listed faculty minimum qualifications or establish equivalent qualifications through the college's equivalency process. Some specialized courses may also require specific certificates to meet content requirements established by outside agencies or accreditation standards. The application must include the required electronic application and transcripts; applicants with foreign transcripts must submit an approved U.S. equivalency evaluation before being added to the pool.
Requirements
- A master's degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition, or public health; OR a bachelor's degree in one of those fields and a master's degree in any biological science; OR equivalent qualifications.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Some specialized courses may require specific certificates meeting minimum content requirements established by outside agencies or accreditation.
