About The Position

National University is seeking part-time faculty in Economics for its Department of Finance, Economics, Marketing & Accounting within the College of Business, Engineering & Technology. The university, founded in 1971 and nonprofit, is dedicated to providing accessible higher education to adult learners. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to serving a diverse adult student body. This role involves collaboration with the Academic Program Director and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success.

Requirements

Master’s degree in the field of Economics from a regionally accredited university required.
Applicants must be based in San Diego area and willing to teach both hybrid classes in San Diego area and online classes through Brightspace Navigate platform.
Candidates receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.

Nice To Haves

Candidates with a doctorate degree in a related area with an undergraduate degree in Economics and at least six hours of courses taken in Economics may also be considered.
Experience of teaching hybrid and online classes preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
