About The Position

National University, a veteran-founded, nonprofit institution in San Diego, California, is seeking part-time faculty for its Crime Scene Investigation & Forensics program within the School of Public Service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to teaching excellence and serving a diverse adult student body. This role involves collaboration with the Academic Program Director and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success.

Requirements

Master’s degree in criminal justice, forensic science, administration of justice or other criminal justice or related forensics degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with performing crime scene investigation, forensic photography, and fingerprint analysis required.
Minimum of 1 year of higher education teaching adult learner experience required.
Experience working in Law Enforcement required.
Must be eligible to work in California to facilitate courses onsite at the Spectrum Campus in San Diego.

Nice To Haves

Doctoral degree in the criminal justice or forensic science field preferred.
Experience in developing course content preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
