Part-time Faculty, Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Clinical Site Assignments – Pediatrics (Los Angeles, CA)
About The Position
National University, a veteran-founded, nonprofit institution, is seeking part-time faculty for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. This role involves conducting Pediatric clinicals at placement sites in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to serving a diverse adult student body. This position collaborates with the Academic Program Director and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success. Responsibilities include leading clinical sessions, providing timely feedback to students, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, completing administrative tasks, and identifying at-risk students.
Requirements
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
- At least one year of continuous clinical bedside nursing experience in an acute care setting (Pediatrics) within the last 5 years as a RN providing direct patient care, OR at least one year of RN level clinical teaching experience within the last 5 years.
- Must have a current, unencumbered CA Registered Nursing license.
Nice To Haves
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., DNP, or Ed.D.) from a nationally accredited or regionally accredited university.
- 2+ years of higher education teaching experience in a professional nursing program.
- Experience teaching adult learners.
- National certification in specialty area.
Responsibilities
- Lead sessions at clinical placement sites.
- Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
- Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
- Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
- Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
- Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
- Some indirect patient care is also performed in the skills and simulation lab.
