About The Position

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a Part-Time Extended Day Guide for their school at Central West End. This role focuses on creating a calm and joyful end to each child's day for children aged 0-6. The position is ideal for someone who loves working with children and wants to contribute to a meaningful after-school experience in a supportive environment. The Extended Day team plays a crucial role in shaping the afternoon flow, supporting planned activities, maintaining routines, and making the program enriching and enjoyable.

Requirements

Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or camp setting
A reliable, adaptable, organized, and proactive mindset
A warm, patient, and engaging presence with children and families
Ability to take initiative while also collaborating closely with a team
A genuine love for working with young children

Nice To Haves

Prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required
Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach

Responsibilities

Support a calm, safe, and engaging after-school environment
Facilitate a mix of structured and open-ended activities
Prepare materials and maintain an orderly space
Supervise and engage with children in a warm, respectful way
Welcome and engage with families at pick-up, ensuring a smooth transition home and sharing relevant updates
Partner with the school team to ensure a smooth transition from the school day to extended care
Contribute ideas and feedback to help strengthen the extended day experience
