About The Position
WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is hiring an Evening Field Support Lead across Southern Salt Lake Valley and Utah County. This role offers a consistent evening schedule with real leadership responsibility. Shifts run 3–5 hours per evening, Monday through Friday, starting around 5:30 PM. Prior experience is helpful but not required, as full training is provided. This position is a direct stepping stone into management tracks within the company, which has a strong track record of promoting from within.
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older.
- Valid Utah driver's license.
- Current auto insurance.
- Smartphone with an active data plan and location services enabled.
- Able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Meet the physical demands of the role (extensive walking, ascending/descending stairs, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, working outdoors in varying weather conditions).
- Available Monday through Friday evenings.
- Willingness to travel throughout Southern Salt Lake Valley and Utah County.
- Reliable, professional, and self-motivated.
- Some assignments require use of a personal open-bed pickup truck.
Nice To Haves
- Prior valet trash, porter, or field operations experience.
Responsibilities
- Support nightly trash and recycling valet routes across apartment communities each evening.
- Monitor routes and provide on-site support to Valet Porters, stepping in to perform collection duties when coverage is needed.
- Collect bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard from residents' doors and transport materials to onsite dumpsters, chutes, or compactors.
- Inspect recycling for contamination and ensure proper separation.
- Check in/out while documenting your route using a mobile app.
- Issue courtesy compliance notices.
- Upload required photos.
- Clean up loose trash near dumpsters and compactor areas.
- Assist with training new team members.
- Complete quality audits.
- Occasionally service pet waste stations.
