The Laboratory Schools, a service unit of the College of Education of Illinois State University, comprise Thomas Metcalf School (Pre-K through 8) and University High School. This unit provides a comprehensive instructional program for over 1000 students, including HILIA programs for students with low incidence disabilities related to hearing and vision. The mission of the Laboratory Schools is to serve as a model for educational methods and theory, supporting the preparation of future educators, conducting educational research, offering quality educational programs for children, and disseminating information to the educational profession. This Part-Time Educational Interpreter position is responsible for providing interpreter services to students aged 3-21 who are deaf and/or hard of hearing. The specific placement at Thomas Metcalf School or University High School is determined by student need and may change annually.
