About The Position
Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Part-Time School Custodian to work flexibly for 5 hours per day. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency of the school premises. The custodian will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from general cleaning and maintenance to ensuring a secure environment for students and staff.
Requirements
- Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting
- Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, with a track record of excellence
- Strong sense of duty and accountability
- Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to follow and enforce safety and hygiene regulations rigorously
- Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks
- Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude
- Ability to work cooperatively with the building head custodians
- Must be able to handle push, pull, or lift weights of at least fifty (50) pounds
Nice To Haves
- Willingness to obtain a CDL to provide support to the transportation department as needed
Responsibilities
- General cleaning of school premises
- Lawn care and snow removal
- Working at heights on ladders and other platforms
- Ordering supplies
- Handling cleaning chemicals
- Painting
- Performing minor plumbing and maintenance repairs/remodels as needed with support and supervision
- Supervising areas where students are present as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee
- Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Maintaining floors, walls, windows, and surfaces with precision and care
- Ensuring the orderly arrangement and proper functioning of all custodial equipment and supplies
- Inspecting and securing school facilities to guarantee a safe environment
- Executing routine maintenance tasks with unwavering dedication and punctuality
- Collaborating with school administration to enforce and enhance custodial protocols and practices
