Part-Time Caregiver – 12-Hour Day & Night Shifts
About The Position
Always Best Care Senior Services is seeking four experienced part-time caregivers to provide one-on-one care for a client with advanced dementia who resides in a senior living community in Dallas. We are currently hiring for both day and overnight shifts. Caregivers will work two consistent 12-hour shifts per week. This client requires close supervision, patience, redirection, and hands-on assistance with activities of daily living. We are specifically looking for caregivers who have experience working with individuals with dementia or significant cognitive impairment. This is a consistent assignment and is ideal for experienced caregivers who enjoy providing individualized care and support to clients living with dementia.
Requirements
- Previous professional caregiving experience required
- Must be comfortable caring for a client with advanced cognitive impairment
- Must be patient and able to provide frequent redirection and reassurance
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work two 12-hour shifts per week
Nice To Haves
- Dementia or memory-care experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Providing one-on-one supervision and companionship
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Providing meal and feeding assistance as needed
- Providing frequent reminders, cueing, and redirection
- Monitoring the client for safety
- Assisting with mobility and other activities of daily living
- Responding calmly and appropriately to dementia-related behaviors
- Maintaining the client's routine and providing reassurance
- Communicating changes or concerns to the appropriate office staff
- Documenting care provided during each shift
