About The Position

The Part Time Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate adheres to operational, merchandising, loss-prevention, labor, and safety standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. Duties include assisting with purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising and recovery standards, and supporting store shrink-reduction goals. The position also requires working effectively with peers and supervisors and responding appropriately to changing priorities and unexpected situations. The position is at the Homesense store at 177 Old Country Road, Carle Place, New York. Starting pay is USD $17.00 to $17.50 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable plan or program terms and may change.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain and clean the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, company policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May be cross-trained to work in multiple store areas to support business needs.
