About The Position
The Learning Experience - Gainesville is seeking an experienced Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to support our classrooms during the second half of the school day. You'll help maintain engaging classrooms, support daily routines, and give children a positive end to their day. This is a great fit for an experienced childcare professional looking for dependable weekday afternoon hours.
Requirements
- Previous professional daycare, childcare, preschool, or early childhood experience required
- Comfortable working with young children in a group classroom setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and available Monday-Friday from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM
- Must meet Virginia licensing requirements for the position
Responsibilities
- Support classrooms and teachers throughout the afternoon
- Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on activities
- Assist with afternoon snacks, transitions, and classroom routines
- Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management
- Help maintain required classroom ratios
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Assist with classroom organization and end-of-day procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Follow Virginia licensing and center requirements
