Part Time Afternoon Preschool Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Shifts: Part-time 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM Do you want to work at a school where a child's natural curiosity and enthusiasm are fostered through imaginative play, creative projects and academic activities that engage and stimulate children's learning? Our Assistant Teachers assist in classroom management including supervision, transitions, cleaning and preparing supplies.
Requirements
- A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Must be physically able to lift and carry a minimum of 45 pounds.
- CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to obtain.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Pass pre-employment screenings and trainings as required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in classroom management including supervision, transitions, cleaning and preparing supplies.
- Support developmentally appropriate academic and values curricula in a loving and safe environment.
- Engage in physical activity with children.
- Constantly move and interact with the children to provide stimulation and develop relationships.
- Alternate often between sitting and standing.
- Maintain sight and sound of the children at all times.
- Take any assigned tasks and to work with various age groups.
- Support parents as partners in education.
