About The Position

The Goddard School of Charlestown is seeking energetic, dependable, and caring individuals to join its team as Part-Time Afternoon Classroom Support Teachers. This role is ideal for high school and college students looking for a part-time job that complements their academic schedules. The position involves providing additional classroom support during the afternoon, assisting teachers, engaging with children, and ensuring the smooth closing of the school day. The available schedule is Monday–Friday, with options for 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, or 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM shifts.

Requirements

• Responsible, dependable, energetic, patient, and positive demeanor
• Genuine enjoyment of interacting with children
• Must meet all applicable age, background-check, and employment requirements for working in a licensed childcare setting
• Consistent availability during one of the specified afternoon schedules (1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, or 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday)

Nice To Haves

• Previous childcare experience is a plus
• High school and college students are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Assisting with classroom supervision
• Engaging children in age-appropriate activities and play
• Supporting classroom transitions
• Helping with snacks and afternoon routines
• Assisting with classroom organization and cleanup
• Providing coverage where additional classroom support is needed
• Helping prepare children and classrooms for end-of-day dismissal and closing
