About The Position
A family in Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 is seeking a reliable, active, and engaging private nanny to care for their 6-year-old child who is entering the 1st grade. The schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. There is potential for rare overnight care 3-4 times per year when the parent travels for work. The family requires on-the-books payment only. School pick-up involves an uphill 0.6-mile walk from school.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- Fluent in English
- Physically active and able to handle an uphill 0.6-mile walk from school
- Willingness to be paid on-the-books
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Openness to occasional overnight stays (paid at hourly rate until 8:00 PM bedtime, $100 flat rate from 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM, and hourly resuming at 6:00 AM)
Responsibilities
- Pick up the child from school at 4:30 PM (via walking or driving)
- Assist with 1st-grade homework and keep the child actively engaged
- Prepare light meals on some days
- Provide attentive care and companionship until parent returns home around 7:30 PM
