About The Position
A welcoming family in Boston, MA 02127 is seeking an engaging and dependable part-time babysitter to provide after-school care for their two children, ages 8 and 6. The home is pet-friendly and includes two cats. The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, totaling 7 hours per week, with potential for additional hours on school closure days and during the summer. The family lives in a walkable neighborhood, and the school and activities are within walking distance. The children are active and in 3rd and 1st grade respectively.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience caring for school-aged children
- Comfortable walking with children to nearby school and activities
- Comfortable in a home with cats
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification (family is willing to cover the cost of certification if needed)
- Interest in optional weekend cat sitting when the family travels
Responsibilities
- Pick up children from school and walk them to after-school activities
- Provide homework assistance and encouragement
- Prepare after-school snacks and light dinners for the children
- Manage basic cleanup after children and meal preparation
Benefits
