About The Position
Floyd County is looking for a Parks & Recreation Maintenance Supervisor. The purpose of this classification is to manage and supervise an inmate work detail performing parks maintenance while ensuring the safety of the public and inmates.
Requirements
- High School graduation or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience in parks maintenance, grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, facility maintenance, athletic field maintenance, or a closely related field, or Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess and maintain a Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification as a Basic Correctional Officer within one (1) year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Supervises inmate work crews and ensures proper security procedures are followed.
- Plans daily work activities and assigns tasks to crew members.
- Provides instruction, direction, and oversight to inmate crews.
- Monitors work progress and ensures safety and quality standards are met.
- Issues and manages materials, tools, and equipment needed for assigned work.
- Performs and oversees general parks and facilities maintenance and repairs.
- Prepares daily reports on work activities, materials used, and project status.
- Assists in evaluating crew performance and provides input on discipline and related personnel actions.
