About The Position

The Parks and Recreation (P&R) and Facilities Assistant is a full-time position that serves as the primary administrative customer contact for the Parks and Recreation department. Reporting to the Parks and Recreation Manager this position will provide support and assistance to the Parks and Recreation Manager in the delivery of parks and recreation services, including front line customer service, facility booking including; ball diamonds, pavilions, gymnasium and ice, administrative financial services and recreation program support. The Township of Warwick is a growing community of about 4,000, located approximately halfway between London, ON and Sarnia, ON and just off Highway 402. This is an exciting time in the Parks and Recreation Department with a recently completed Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Culture master plan and the completion of the new East Lambton Community Complex. Requirements

  • Degree/Certificate in recreation and leisure, office administration, public or business administration, marketing or related.
  • Two years of experience, preferably in a public office.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, including proper telephone etiquette, and to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain discretion in a confidential environment with a high level of professionalism.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices and their application in the workplace.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively complete/deliver and prioritize assigned tasks and responsibilities with established deadlines.
  • Valid Ontario’s driver’s license.
