About The Position
This is a Part Time - Temporary position in Recreation Services. The Parks Maintenance Worker performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks including maintenance of all park facilities, janitorial duties, restroom cleaning, trash pickup, weeding, raking, painting, and special events preparation. Incumbents receive general supervision from a Lead Maintenance Technician, Coordinator or Supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years old at the time of hire
- Possess a valid Arizona driver's license
- Must be able to perform physical work outdoors under all weather conditions
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skill in performing grounds/facilities maintenance and landscaping tasks
- Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Skill in using hand and power tools to maintain/repair buildings and facilities
- Skill in following oral and written instructions
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the general public and City employees
- Ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone
- Ability to effectively and safely perform required duties
- Ability to safely operate required equipment and city vehicle as needed
- Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include: Drug screening, Motor vehicle records check, Criminal background screening
