About The Position

This entry-level, part-time seasonal position assists with routine manual labor to maintain, repair, and care for Town streets, parks, facilities, rights-of-way, and other public infrastructure as assigned. Work provides initial experience and training under direct supervision and involves basic tasks that require little or no prior training or experience.

The worker maintains parks, recreational areas, facilities, playgrounds, athletic fields, and other Town-owned properties; performs landscaping and routine facility upkeep; and inspects and makes minor repairs to park amenities. The role also supports work orders, safety inspections, emergency response activities, seasonal operations, and special events. Specific tasks may vary with the Town’s needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
• Valid Arizona Class D driver’s license.
• Obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within six months.
• Obtain OSHA 10 certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform litter control and grounds maintenance at Town parks, recreational areas, facilities, playgrounds, athletic fields, and other assigned Town-owned properties.
• Perform landscaping activities, including mowing, pruning, planting, fertilizing, watering, weed control, and irrigation maintenance.
• Provide janitorial services and routine facility maintenance, including cleaning, inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs to park amenities such as playground equipment, picnic tables, benches, and fencing.
• Operate light to medium equipment and hand and power tools to maintain parks, grounds, and facilities.
• Perform hazard inspections and help maintain safe conditions for employees and the public.
• Respond to work orders, maintenance requests, emergency response activities, seasonal operations, and special events as assigned.
• Support special events by setting up barricades, hauling and setting up a stage, and cleaning up after events.
• Perform related work as assigned.
