About The Position

The Parks Maintenance Worker keeps public park landscapes and features attractive, healthy, and safe. Work includes maintaining jogging and biking paths, athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic tables, benches, lawns, flower beds, and gardens.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an entry-level wage of $14.85 per hour. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; hours and days may vary. Applicants must apply online through the City of Pearsall website to be selected for an interview.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment DPS background check, drug test, physical, and lumbar X-ray.
• Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
• Possess, or have the ability to obtain, applicator's pesticide and herbicide control licensing.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working in grounds maintenance, a nursery, greenhouse, or another landscape-related organization is preferred.
