The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Parks and Recreation Department. We pay our Parks Maintenance Worker a starting salary of $46,259 – $53,206 depending on your qualifications and experience. Requirements

  • Formal Education: High school education or GED.
  • Valid Class "C" Texas Drivers License.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of related experience (preferred)
  • Experience in welding (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Perform labor tasks required for the operations and maintenance of parks and recreation facilities (e.g., irrigation repairs, minor plumbing repair, minor construction, and cleaning.
  • Operate light equipment, drive trucks and use common hand tools (e.g. City vehicles, auger, front end loader, backhoe, electric power tools etc.).
  • Perform light maintenance on equipment and vehicles ensure that they are safe, clean and ready for everyday use.
  • Complete assigned work orders.
  • Perform yard and facility maintenance and cleaning.
  • Required to work overtime and on call.
  • Regular on-site attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Required to work as an essential employee before, during and after an emergency or disaster.
  • Stay abreast of and comply with all City and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or their designee.
