The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Parks and Recreation Department. We pay our Parks Maintenance Worker a starting salary of $46,259 – $53,206 depending on your qualifications and experience. Requirements

Formal Education: High school education or GED.
Valid Class "C" Texas Drivers License.

Nice To Haves

One year of related experience (preferred)
Experience in welding (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

Perform labor tasks required for the operations and maintenance of parks and recreation facilities (e.g., irrigation repairs, minor plumbing repair, minor construction, and cleaning.
Operate light equipment, drive trucks and use common hand tools (e.g. City vehicles, auger, front end loader, backhoe, electric power tools etc.).
Perform light maintenance on equipment and vehicles ensure that they are safe, clean and ready for everyday use.
Complete assigned work orders.
Perform yard and facility maintenance and cleaning.
Required to work overtime and on call.
Regular on-site attendance is an essential function of this position.
Required to work as an essential employee before, during and after an emergency or disaster.
Stay abreast of and comply with all City and departmental policies and procedures.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or their designee.
