Parks Maintenance Worker I- Aquatics Full-time
About The Position
This position is responsible for the maintenance of park grounds and facilities. Duties include placing fences at special events, setting up stages, podiums, flags, and stairs. The role involves mowing grass, operating a weedeater, edging grass, and blowing leaves. Responsibilities also include assembling bleachers, benches, and permanent trash cans, as well as installing, maintaining, and repairing barbecue grills. The worker will prepare sports fields for games and tournaments, mark fields, and adjust endzone goal posts. Applying fertilizer to sodgrass and planting trees and shrubs are also key tasks. The position may involve inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing playground equipment, ordering parts and supplies, transporting parts and equipment, and maintaining tools and equipment. Additionally, the role may include installing, maintaining, and repairing basketball goals, nets, and poles. Other related duties as assigned are also part of the scope.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in park maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of the techniques used in the maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Skill in problem solving and decision making.
- Skill in the operation of hand and power tools.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Responsibilities
