About The Position

Performs a variety of semi-skilled park maintenance tasks which require manipulative skills; operates a variety of light equipment and machinery including but not limited to trucks, tractors and mowers; vacuums porta-johns and vault toilets in all Parks facilities; works under the supervision of a higher classified employee and may be required to provide direction to seasonal employees; performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience in building, grounds or equipment maintenance or operation of a vacuum truck; OR Six (6) months of seasonal parks maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid unrestricted Michigan driver's license with CDL-B with air brake and tank endorsement and good driving record within six (6) months of employment.
• Must be courteous in dealing with the general public and fellow staff members.
• Must be able to perform Essential Job Duties and Functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Must be willing to wear prescribed work uniform.

Responsibilities

• Vacuums porta-johns and vault toilets in all Parks facilities
• Gathers refuse and rubbish from park areas
• Assists in making minor repairs to buildings and equipment
• Performs routine custodial work in park buildings and equipment
• Performs semi-skilled duties in the construction and repair of park projects
