About The Position

Clay County, Missouri is seeking a Parks Assistant to oversee the daily operations of its full-service marina. The position works independently under general oversight and combines customer service, marina operations, staff support, maintenance, financial oversight, and public safety duties. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and record-keeping.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Knowledge of Missouri fish and game laws, including seasons and limits, and marine fueling practices.

Nice To Haves

• Previous marina-related experience is highly preferred.
• A Missouri Boater Registration Card is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage slip rentals and process retail and fuel sales.
• Provide water safety equipment to the public.
• Assist in supervising seasonal staff and train them on boat rentals, safety regulations, and care of live bait tanks.
• Maintain docks and walkways, including removing trash, spider webs, and snow or ice.
• Keep fueling systems in good condition.
• Manage daily cash controls, monitor revenue, and make bank deposits.
• Serve as an on-call contact for emergencies.
• Report unusual occurrences or accidents within 24 hours.
