About The Position

Clay County, Missouri is hiring a Parks Assistant to oversee daily operations at its full-service marina. The position works independently under general oversight and combines customer service, marina operations, hands-on facility maintenance, financial responsibilities, and public safety duties. The role requires outdoor work in all weather conditions and the ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and record-keeping.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Knowledge of Missouri fish and game laws, including seasons and limits, and marine fueling practices.

Nice To Haves

• Previous marina-related experience is highly preferred.
• Missouri Boater Registration Card is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage slip rentals, process retail and fuel sales, and provide water safety equipment to the public.
• Assist in supervising seasonal staff and train them on boat rentals, safety regulations, and care of live bait tanks.
• Maintain docks and walkways, including trash removal, spider web removal, and snow and ice removal.
• Maintain fueling systems in good condition.
• Manage daily cash controls, monitor revenue, and make bank deposits.
• Serve as an on-call contact for emergencies.
• Report unusual occurrences or accidents within 24 hours.
