About The Position
Greenwood County Parks & Recreation is seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Parks & Recreation Helper. This is a hands-on position with a variety of responsibilities, including overseeing youth sports games and assisting with park and facility maintenance. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, being outdoors, and contributing to a positive community experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to walk and stand for much of the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor recreational activities, practices, games, tournaments, and other events.
- Assist coaches and officials to ensure smooth and safe activities.
- Supervise activities at County fields and gyms.
- Open and close recreational facilities, including some weekend responsibilities.
- Assist with park maintenance, including cutting grass, collecting trash, and janitorial services.
- Help with crowd control, traffic management, facility setup, and customer service.
- Enforce rules, record scores, and assist visitors as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
