About The Position

Greenwood County Parks & Recreation is seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Parks & Recreation Helper. This hands-on position involves a variety of responsibilities, from overseeing youth sports games to assisting with park and facility cleanliness. The role offers the opportunity to work with people, be outdoors, and contribute to a positive community experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
This position involves walking and standing for much of the workday.
May require working outdoors in hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions.

Responsibilities

Help manage and monitor recreational activities, practices, games, tournaments, and other events.
Assist coaches and officials to help activities run smoothly and safely.
Supervise activities at County fields and gyms.
Open and close recreational facilities, including some weekend responsibilities.
Assist with park maintenance, including cutting grass, collecting trash, and janitorial services.
Help with crowd control, traffic management, facility setup, and customer service.
Enforce rules, record scores, and assist visitors as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
