About The Position
The City of Newberry is looking for a person who loves working outdoors and is looking for a seasonal, summer job in the Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department. General Position Overview: - Performs grounds maintenance, including mowing grass, trimming, landscaping, picking up leaves and trash, cleaning restrooms, and general park maintenance. - Performs maintenance and repairs at the City recreation fields when needed; ensures fields are clean and ready for recreation activities. - Assists at the conference center with laundry services, set up/tear down chairs and tables at the conference center, garbage removal, cleaning conference center kitchens, conference rooms, restrooms, and other general maintenance as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift and/or carry weights up to one hundred pounds with prolonged periods of standing and walking, holding hand tools, weed eaters, or operating mowers.
- Work in an outside environment; ability to meet physical demands.
- Valid SC driver’s license.
