About The Position

The Parking Lot Attendant is responsible for maintaining the parking operations, safety, security, and lot maintenance plan. This role involves clear communication with patrons and staff, directing vehicles, setting up traffic control devices, patrolling parking areas, and providing excellent customer service. The attendant will also perform lot checks, operate point of sale devices, conduct inspections, perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, assist with painting, and manage parking supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have valid Louisiana's valid Driver's License and approved to operate MCCNO's Motor vehicles by insurance underwriter.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekend, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to qualify for, and safely demonstrate operation of gas powered equipment such as: utility carts, commercial pressure washers, wheeled outdoor blowers, painting machines, landscaping equipment, utility trailers, floodlight generators, offroad vehicles, commercial light duty pickup trucks, commercial repair and installation of traffic controls, forklift and or direct forklift operation, and, use of commercial point of sale parking revenue equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehend and communicate the Parking Operations, Safety/Security and Lot Maintenance plan.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with patrons and staff.
  • Direct vehicles to designated areas using all available individual and department equipment.
  • Set up and adjust traffic control devices in assigned areas.
  • Patrol parking areas and promptly report any unusual or suspicious activity to management.
  • Provide customer service to all patrons, prioritizing pedestrian safety, and clearly guide all pedestrians & motorists to designated areas.
  • Perform lot check tasks, such as digital sign placement, hang tag verification, license plate payment verification and violation notifications.
  • Operate electronic point of sale devices, ensuring accurate distribution & recording of receipts and passes.
  • Maintain situational awareness and promptly report activity inconsistent with the parking & mobility operations plan.
  • Perform pre and post lot inspections.
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks for outdoor parking lots and surrounding campus grounds as assigned.
  • Assist in painting within all designated parking lots and throughout the campus.
  • Inventory & maintain parking supplies and equipment.
